Pima County Lord's Ranch Recovery Land Acquisition Grant Proposal that resulted in an award that contributed to the purchase of 640.4 acres of ranch land in Ironwood Forest National Forest.

Submitted to the United States Fish and Wildlife Service thru the Arizona Game and Fish Department Pima County's Recovery Land Acquisition Grant Proposal for Lord's Ranch resulted in a $521,736 award that contributed to the purchase price of 640.4 acres of land in Ironwood Forest National Monument in 2002.

The acquisition was made as part of Pima County’s Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan and in C.H. Huckelberry's cover letter he states that the land will "contribute to the recovery of several listed [endangered] species and potentially assist in the conservation of 15 Priority Vulnerable Species".

The Friends of Ironwood Forest Newsletter - Spring 2013 has an excellent article on the history of the ranch.
