Arizona Desert Wilderness Act of 1990

In 1990 Representative Morris Udall's Arizona Desert Wilderness Act created 38 new Wilderness Areas in Arizona.

Fueled by the 1976 Federal Lands Management Act's 1991 deadline for the BLM to examine its lands for Wilderness potential Morris Udall's 'Arizona Desert Wilderness Act of 1990' created 28 new Wilderness Areas and expanded the Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness.

The BLM's analysis of 5 of these areas including the Coyote Mountains Wilderness and Baboquivari Peak Wilderness can be found in the Phoenix Final Wilderness Environmental Impact Statement.

Morris Udall was also the sponsor for the Arizona Wilderness Act of 1984.
