A Beetle in the Cotton along the Verde River. Charles Miles. 5/10/2023.
On the path up to the Lower Cliff Dwelling. Charles Miles. 5/10/2023.
On the day I visited the cliff house the structures themselves didn't seem nearly as interesting as simply taking in the view and wondering about living in this spot 1000 years ago. Charles Miles. 5/10/2023.
Tonto National Monument was created in 1907 and for me it was a puzzle to guess which parts of the Lower Cliff Dwelling were re-constructed/restored/protected with modern materials. It would be sad to not be able to see this site - but I wonder if it should be allowed to fade. Charles Miles. 5/10/2023.
