The Tucson Mountains west of Tucson offer quite a few opportunities to enjoy the desert landscape - a slight complication to planning and researching hikes in the are is that the range is split between Saguaro National Park and Pima County's Tucson Mountain Park.

This map from Pima County covers the south section of the Tucson Mountains - Tucson Mountain Park. Because Pima County has been so successful in planning and developing trails in recent years these maps are often slightly behind the actual trail system - but this is still an excellent resource for planning hikes and locating trailheads and access points.
